Duration:  11 hours

You will be picked up from your Kusadasi or Selcuk Hotel and we will commence our drive to Pamukkale which is around 3 hours.  We will stop halfway for a refreshment break.

On the way to Pamukkale I will give you detailed information about the towns of interest that we pass through, including Aydin, Nazili and Sultanhisar.  We will have a comfort stop half way.

We will arrive in Pamukkale between 11.30am and 12.00pm, and we will have lunch when we arrive as there are few dining options inside the site.  We then commence our tour of Pamukkale and Hierapolis from the South Gate of the site, including a walk to the impressive theatre.  You will also be able to see St Philip’s tomb from a distance.

We will have a detailed talk about HIerapolis and I will explain the layout of the ancient city and what life was like in ancient times.

You will then have some free time to swim in the Cleopatra Antique Pool (admission is extra) where you will have the chance to swim over fallen Roman columns and enjoy the thermal water which reportedly helps ailments such as eczema and other skin conditions.

We will then walk downhill, over the travertines together – experiencing the eel of the travertines underfoot.

We then commence our drive back to Selcuk / Kusadasi, stopping again for a break halfway.  We arrive back to Selcuk / Kusadasi at approximately 7.30pm.

Important Note:

Because of the extensive driving involved in this trip, this is a modified tour of Hierapolis – we don’t cover the full ruins site. If time is not a problem for you and you are returning to Kusadasi / Selcuk and don’t mind arriving back a little later, we can start from the North Gate of Hierapolis and cover all of the ruins.
