Located in the province of Denizli, approximately 3 hours drive from Selcuk lies the sleepy little village of Pamukkale, home to the ruins of the ancient Roman spa town of Hierapolis and the magnificent white travertine pools.  If you would prefer to base yourself in Pamukkale rather than do a day trip from Selcuk or Kusadasi, here are some things to try and see while you are in the area:

  • The travertines
  • Hierapolis
  • Aphrodisias (requires a full day)
  • Denizli city
  • Kaklik Caves (on the way to Denizli airport and requires several minibuses or a private car)
  • Red Springs of Karahayit
  • Karahayit Village

I have put together some tour ideas for the Pamukkale area, but as always, I am happy to work with you to customise these.
