Pamukkale Tour
Pamukkale was the location of the ancient Roman spa town of Hierapolis which attracted people from all over who wanted to bathe in its healing waters. It is also the site of the travertine thermal pools, which appear a bit like a frozen waterfall cascading down the side of a hill. Tour Overview
This full day Pamukkale tour is designed for those starting and finishing in Pamukkale. You will be picked up from your Pamukkale hotel, or alternatively we can help to arrange a pick up from Denizli Airport for you (additional charges apply).
Our first stop of the day will be at the Red Springs of Karahayit, where the water is coloured red as a result of the high iron content in the water. We will then enter Hierapolis through the North Gate, and make our way through the site, stopping to visit the following points of interest along the way:
- Necrpolis
- Bath & Basilica
- Domitian Gate
- Frontinius Stret
- Latrine (Public Toilets)
- Temple of Apollon
- Theatre
- St Philip’s Tomb
- Pamukkale Travertines
You will also have free time to visit the Cleopatra Antique Pool (entrance fee extra) where you can swim over ancient Roman columns that fell into the pool because of an earthquake thousands of years ago.
Finally we have some free tie to explore the travertines and walk along the boardwalk that runs above them.
At the conclusion of the tour we will drop you back to your hotel, or help you to transfer to Denizli airport or to Selcuk / Kusadasi (additional charges apply).
